In the current state of Web3, communication between identities is extremely difficult. A stark example of this was when Solend (Solana-based lending platform) attempted to communicate with a whale whose imminent liquidation risked crashing the entire protocol, and

CYBER stakers along with CYBER holders can propose and vote on governance proposals on the use of community treasury, protocol upgrades, and council members.

Sequencers are at the core of a Layer 2 network, a centralized sequencer could have a negative impact, such as censoring user transactions, creating a single point of failure, and creating harmful MEVs. Cyber L2 utilizes EigenLayer’s [Actively Validated Services](https://docs.eigenlayer.xyz/eigenlayer/overview/key-terms) (AVS) to build up the fundamental decentralized infrastructures such as sequencer, verifier, and CyberDB. Staked CYBER and restaked ETH are utilized as delegations to different AVS operators running these infrastructures, and a slashing mechanism is implemented to ensure operational integrity, optimize performance and maximize network security.

**A:** You can accumulate points by staking CYBER tokens. Additional points are available by referring others to stake CYBER. Participation in our community events and attaining retroactive community status can also unlock various booster levels.

**Q: What benefits do I get from inviting others to stake CYBER?**

**A:** You earn extra points based on your invitees’ staking points. You’ll receive 15% of the staking points from your direct invitees and 5% from your second-degree invitees (those invited by your invitees). Your referral code can be used an unlimited number of times.

**Q: When can I unstake CYBER?**

**A:** You can unstake your CYBER shortly after the launch of the Cyber mainnet. The unstake process, which is at a CYBER holder’s discretion, will take 21 days. The Cyber mainnet is planned to launch simultaneously with the EigenLayer mainnet, targeting the second quarter of 2024.

**Q: How are CYBER Season 2 Rewards distributed to stakers?**

Phaver, the leading social app on Lens Protocol, has announced a new way to reward some of its over 50,000 weekly users with the first native on-chain rewards, the Phaver-Up NFTs. These “Phaver power-ups” have a utility built into Phaver’s gamified social system and will also reward some of the early users holding it with preferential access to future launches.

Some of the native benefits for the holders include one of the highest Cred and Point reward categories on Phaver, access to exclusive features and a gated Holder Community with access to support and alpha insights from the Phaver team. New benefits will be added frequently, making these NFTs extremely beneficial for their holders also in the future.

The Genesis Edition of Phaver-Ups has been capped at 2000 free, tradeable, ERC-721 NFTs, available on Polygon in cooperation with Magic Eden. The distribution will happen in a series of weekly whitelists on Magic Eden as well as airdrops to key contributors and winners of weekly Phaver Points -based auctions that provide the first opportunity to redeem the in-app currency for rewards outside the app.

The exact ways to be eligible for either an airdropped NFT or participating in the highly coveted weekly whitelist will be announced in posts from the official @phaver account on Phaver and Lens, but, overall, high-quality social activity and connecting all your on-chain assets to your Phaver profile are some of the key ways. While a large share of the NFTs will be granted to early users as a thank-you for being part of the journey before others, there are also many opportunities to qualify as a new user.

*In the first phase, Phaver has been honing our in-app gamification to be highly resistant to bots and farming, and now we are ready to start rolling out on-chain reward mechanisms with full custody and liquidity, starting with the Genesis Phaver-Ups to reward early believers*, says CEO of Phaver, Joonatan Lintala.

In Phaver’s gamified social economy, users are rewarded for connecting wallets and e.g. completing a privacy-safe proof-of-personhood facial scan, with credibility, or “Phaver Cred”. This helps keep multi-accounting at bay and rewards users for building their own social graph by connecting all their on-chain assets in one place.

Besides Cred, users also earn Phaver Points that will be the main source of future on-chain rewards. Points are earned by creating high-quality posts as well as helping others discover them by Phaving, which rewards users for selecting their favorite posts each day as long as others agree, building a new kind of decentralized content discovery mechanism.

The first batch of Phaver-Up NFTs will be airdropped to Phaver-connected wallets of some early contributors soon, followed by the minting of the first batch on [Magic Eden](https://magiceden.io/launchpad/polygon/phaver_up_genesis_edition) on 10th April 4 pm UTC by whitelisted early users who will be notified about eligibility via Phaver app push notifications 1 day before the mint. Market players shouldn’t have a false feeling of security as a result of the current quiet in the volatility of Bitcoin and ETH. Specifically, BTC saw a significant 13.3% drop in on-chain volume, indicating a decrease in trading activity on Bitcoin Network.

The slowdown in growth seems natural and healthy after the initial hype. It allows the industry to consolidate, mature and improve before the next wave of web3 games.

The total number of active games increased slightly to 1,004 by the end of May, compared to 979 in March and 1001 in April, indicating that more games are in users’ eyesights. [The number of new GameFi projects](https://www.footprint.network/research/gamefi/gamefi-market/market-overview?series_date=past30days) launched in May increased slightly to 60, bringing the total number of games in the market to 2381.

The number of new games launched rebounded in May, but at a more moderate pace. As the novelty effect of GameFi wears off, higher quality games with solid gameplay and token economics may gain more traction and lead a new wave of growth.

According to data from the 31st of May, Axie Infinity continued to be the dominant game in terms of volume, with a trading volume of $6.6 million, demonstrating its span liquidity and established position in the market. This month, Axie Infinity made notable progress by launching on the Apple App Store in key markets and introducing the ability for users to create unique and customisable PFP avatars, demonstrating its commitment to game development and expanding its user base. Battlefly and Illuvium also saw span volumes following Axie.

In terms of token price, for May, Zodium has the top token with a 130% increase, followed by Taroverse with a 92% increase and Victoria VR with a 78% increase. However, large price spikes alone don’t determine profitability.

The biggest gainers were not so well-known projects, suggesting that hype and speculation drove the rally rather than span fundamentals. Rapid price increases alone don’t prove sustainability.

In terms of active users, Alien Worlds had the most active users on 31st May with 233,684, followed by Sweat Wallet with 90,189 and Splinterlands with 74,876, which is very span in the bear market.

Larger deal sizes reflected investor confidence and recognition of the long-term potential of the industry. However, the total number of funding declined slightly, indicating the market is still in downturn.

The most notable projects are M80, Pomerium and Illuvium, which raised $3m, $20m and $10m respectively, even though overall market sentiment remains subdued. Their progress will be worth watching.

May’s GameFi funding data shows that while the trading markets remain lacklustre, the capital markets’ long-term confidence in blockchain games remains intact. As the market clears and consolidates, the surviving projects are looking more promising.
