With around $50,000 in prizes, and a range of rewards including mentorship, seed funding opportunities, and more, the Connected 2023 demo day saw 57 projects compete for 6 categories of bounties. # **Stake Your CYBER**

Season 2 Rewards is using a point system to determine reward distribution. Stake your CYBER to accumulate points and earn extra through referrals and boosters. The current campaign started on March 8th and continues until the launch of the Cyber mainnet. You’ll be able to unstake your CYBER shortly after the Cyber mainnet goes live. Cyber mainnet is planned to launch at the same time as the EigenLayer mainnet, targeted for the second quarter of 2024.

## **Earn Through Referrals**

Invite your friends to get 15% of the staking points from those you directly invite and 5% from second-degree invitees (those invited by the people you invited). Your referral code can be used multiple times.

## **Boosters**

You can unlock different levels of boosters to receive a boost on your total points.

- **Check-in Booster:** Check in daily to earn a booster on your total points. Checking in for 90 consecutive days earns you a 9% boost on your rewards.
- **Season 1 FanClub Booster:** This booster is designed for our community members who have unused Season 1 FanPoints. If you have ≥2000 and <5000 unused FanPoints, you’ll receive a 1.5% boost. If you’re holding over ≥5000 unused FanPoints, you’ll receive a 3% boost on your total points.

Sequencers are at the core of a Layer 2 network, a centralized sequencer could have a negative impact, such as censoring user transactions, creating a single point of failure, and creating harmful MEVs. **A:** You can accumulate points by staking CYBER tokens. Additional points are available by referring others to stake CYBER. Participation in our community events and attaining retroactive community status can also unlock various booster levels.

**Q: What benefits do I get from inviting others to stake CYBER?**

**A:** You earn extra points based on your invitees’ staking points. You’ll receive 15% of the staking points from your direct invitees and 5% from your second-degree invitees (those invited by your invitees). Your referral code can be used an unlimited number of times.

**Q: When can I unstake CYBER?**

**A:** You can unstake your CYBER shortly after the launch of the Cyber mainnet. The unstake process, which is at a CYBER holder’s discretion, will take 21 days. The Cyber mainnet is planned to launch simultaneously with the EigenLayer mainnet, targeting the second quarter of 2024.

**Q: How are CYBER Season 2 Rewards distributed to stakers?**

Danmaku, also known as Bullet Chat, is a popular and interactive way for younger generations to engage with videos, express their emotions, and build communities.

With ReadON Danmaku, users can sign and send on-chain bullet chats in the app, as well as send gifts or cryptodirectly to their favorite creators. This feature has quickly gained traction, with over 10K users trying it out within the first week and more than 50,000 bullet chats sent on-chain.

Moreover, ReadON provides a web version where users can watch Youtube videos with on-chain bullet chats. Any developer can easily construct a dApp to display this information from public on-chain data.

Compared to traditional interactions such as follow, comment, and like, sending bullet chats encourages better engagement and builds a stronger sense of community. The AI-Driven Future of Crypto Investment

## What exactly *is* Honeypot?

Generally speaking, a “honeypot” is [defined](https://www.techtarget.com/searchsecurity/definition/honey-pot) as follows:

> *“In cybersecurity, a honeypot is a network-attached system set up as a decoy to lure cyber attackers and detect, deflect, and study hacking attempts to gain unauthorized access to information systems.”*

But what exactly is Honeypot, the DApp?

It's a game of sorts. A hacking challenge based on the concept of honeypots. Consider it a treasure hunt with no map, or a pot of gold at the end with one rule: if you can hack it, you can have it — no strings attached.

What Honeypot **is not** is a Bug Bounty or a Capture the Flag (CTF) program. Winners will figure out how to withdraw funds directly to their account. No need to submit a hacking recipe or take any other step. Likewise, there is no previously known solution to the challenge. The Cartesi team is not aware of any possible breaches to the Cartesi Rollup logic.

The game is designed to be a challenge for web3 developers. While attempting to withdraw the funds in a smart contract powered by Cartesi Rollups, they will be testing the security of Cartesi Rollups V1.

## How does it work?

In the backend code of the Honeypot DApp there is logic that only allows Cartesi’s depositor account to withdraw funds. Players face the challenge of breaking the code and withdrawing the funds to an account that *they* own. Go through the [Cartesi Rollups documentation](https://docs.cartesi.io/cartesi-rollups/) to come up with your own idea of how this could be done.

The original size of the honeypot will be 35,000 CTSI. It will then grow based on compounding 8% weekly allocations from the Cartesi Foundation.

What happens if the honeypot is cracked? The winner gets the funds — that’s it. Cartesi will then study the breach, solve it, and deploy another Honeypot to keep strengthening the core technology.

## What are Cartesi Rollups?

The Honeypot DApp operates within the Cartesi Rollups framework, wherein its backend logic runs in a dedicated Cartesi Node on the execution layer. In the case of the Honeypot, the execution layer will be layer-2, with the base layer being Ethereum itself. Asset operations are managed by Cartesi smart contracts on the base layer (layer 1), facilitating communication between the front-end and the Cartesi Node.

This architecture of a Cartesi DApp enables developers to realize substantial enhancements in the computational scalability of the blockchain. This is achieved by relocating the execution logic to nodes on the execution layer, while using the base layer for asset settlement, composability, and dispute resolution.

Not only do Cartesi Rollups address the computational limitations of the blockchain, but they also remedy the absence of a mature software stack for decentralized applications. Cartesi Rollups achieve this by offering modular application-specific optimistic rollups with interactive dispute resolutions, coupled with a mainstream virtual machine capable of executing real operating systems, such as Linux. This effectively allows developers to build scalable DApps with mainstream software stacks, like Python, NumPy, Rust, and many others.

Welcome to the Beginner’s Guide to Web3 Social!

First things first: what’s centralized social media? These are the apps most people use every day; the Instagrams, Twitters, and Facebooks of the world. In centralized social media, users’ social data and connections are stored on **centralized servers** owned and controlled by large corporations and parent companies like Meta (Facebook) or ByteDance (TikTok).

Decentralized social media is the opposite — it’s where users’ online interactions, content, and social data are stored in **transparent, open-source environments**, like on a [blockchain](https://docs.alchemy.com/docs/what-is-a-blockchain) (i.e., [Ethereum](https://ethereum.org/en/)) or a decentralized storage server (i.e., [IPFS](https://ipfs.tech/)), that is not owned or accessed by any single entity but by the users and builders themselves.

Tokenizing user-owned content refers to owning, storing, and collecting content as tokens on a blockchain, often as [NFTs.](https://ethereum.org/en/nft/) Tokenizing content (and connections) is a major use case and opportunity of Web3 Social to return value to content creators who no longer must navigate the limiting climate of publishing content via centralized social media channels to reach an audience and generate value.

### **How are** **Web3 and Web2 Social Networks Built Differently?** 

Social networks rely on [social graphs](https://link3.to/cyberconnect/post/1e150f16f02f41f1778d04021aa2ced959deac87b8c23c87891e5ce014901c5e) to connect the dots between users’ content, connections, and online identities; they’re like the building blocks to one’s entire online existence. These heavily guarded pillars of centralized social media’s architecture (i.e. the “stack”) exist in what many refer to as "walled gardens,” meaning they are inaccessible environments that lock out users from owning their content and social data, and prevent developers from accessing that data to provide users a better experience.

In Web3 social, however, social graphs are made open-source and composable (i.e., interoperable) so developers can leverage the same features to build into their own applications across different use cases, like content, music, events, art, trading, and so on. Imagine if Twitter was like a box of legos, where different developers could pick the individual pieces they (and their users) wanted most. That’s what happens at the social graph layer, where different blockchain-enabled social graphs enable developers to build countless Web3 social applications.

Here are some of the leading social graphs, networks, and a few of the applications they support.

### **Web3 Social Ecosystem: the Leading Protocols, Apps, and Players**

**[CyberConnect](https://cyberconnect.me/)**

CyberConnect enables developers to create social applications, empowering users to own their digital identity, content, connections, and monetization channels. CyberConnect has three core components: [CyberAccount](https://wallet.cyber.co/), a user-friendly smart account system; CyberGraph, a censorship-resistant database to record users’ content and social connections; and CyberNetwork, a gas-efficient and scalable network to bring Web3 social to the world.

CyberConnect utilizes decentralized storage protocols like IPFS and [Arweave](https://www.arweave.org/) to store users’ social data, which is critical to Web3’s potential to scale applications while hosting data in a secure and decentralized environment. CyberConnect has a growing ecosystem of dApps (decentralized applications) built on its network to satisfy a variety of use cases. Its leading dApp, [Link3](https://link3.to/), a content, community, and event amplification platform, has over 940k monthly active users.

**Lens**

Lens Protocol leverages a smart contract-based architecture built on the Polygon blockchain. Lens enables features like user-owned profile NFTs and on-chain modules for developers as the gateway to their ecosystem of dApps like [Lenster](https://lenster.xyz/), a content tool, and network where users follow and collect content to support creators. Beyond basic profile and following capabilities, Lens’ core concepts are content (Publications, Collecting, and Mirrors — i.e., re-shared publications), smart contract modules triggered via on-chain actions (Follow, Collect, etc.), and built-in governance, which allows groups to collectively make decisions in a decentralized environment, like a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization).

**Farcaster**

Built on Ethereum, Farcaster is a decentralized, invite-only communication network and social graph focused on private, encrypted communication and messages (i.e., Casts), reactions, Amps (a unique temporary follow feature), on-chain verification tools to prove users’ identity and content ownership (fnames and Verifications), and various anti-impersonation, security-focused features. While Farcaster doesn’t currently have many front-end apps that can plug into its flagship application, current clients (i.e., apps) can integrate into its network by running their own Hub, which is the storage environment for social graphs activity where Casts originate.  For many users who are frustrated with the limitations and unfair practices of centralized apps like Twitter, Farcaster has proved itself to be a useful alternative.

**With a dedicated allocation of $2M worth of CYBER tokens, the program aims to catalyze innovation within the Cyber ecosystem and beyond. The inaugural Pilot Round of the program will feature a total of $150k worth of CYBER** and applications will open on April 1st and close April 12th, with winning projects being announced May 1st.

The focus of this inaugural Pilot Round grants program is on Builder Grants, targeting teams building in two key areas: Social dApps and Developer Tooling.

Introducing Cyber's $2M Ecosystem Grants Program: Empowering Community-Led Innovation and Growth in Onchain Social

_**Game Space has announced it will be upgraded into a Casual GameFi Hub to bring an extra hour of happiness for everyone in Web3!**_

2022 was the most important year for GameFi's development. The innovation from Play-to-Earn to X-to-Earn model, together with the influx of capital raising and users rushing into Web3 has forged the glory of Web3 Gaming. It's inevitable to say that when the bear market arrived, the GameFi sector also was affected on some level. Nevertheless, the Web3 gaming market continues to be one of the fastest growing segments of Web3, with an average number reaching up to 800,000 active unique wallets per day in some periods.

Recently, Game Space has teamed up with Spinterlands, ImmutableX and Big Time to hold one of the largest Web3 gaming tournaments – the Player One Tournament to bring up the hype of GameFi. The tournament has created mass buzz for the GameFi sector, with  200K+ Twitter engagements and more than 20K+ on chain gamers participating in the 7-day tournament. On top of that, Sky Vee, a streamer with over 1.3M+ fanbase has also joined the tournament to compete and battle for the ultimate prize pool.

We can see that the love and passion of loyal Web3 gamers are still active in the market, but after Axie Infinity as the representative GameFi V1.0 has faded out from the audience's eyes, the industry has become quiet and people have high expectations for AAA GameFi projects entering the scene.  Many of the top AAA Web2 games including Zynga and Ubisoft have once said to enter Web3 but still haven't taken any moves, this then leads to the question of why AAA games rarely can make it to Web3?

**Why do AAA games have difficulties to enter Web3?**

Michael Cameron, CEO of Game Space previously has helped with incubating one of the industry’s first AAA MMORPG Web3 game Bless Global. He states that AAA games require a very high-level of entry, usually teams with over $50 million in funding may barely squeeze into this queue. In addition, long R&D cycles and difficulties in profiting, together with the bear market, all of these are the key factors that are hindering them to make this move.

Cameron also once worked with his team to launch the industry’s first GameFi as a Service (GaaS) to help traditional Web2 games to enter Web3 and solve the problems of high threshold of participation and non-closed-loop transactions for early GameFi users. However, the downturn of the GameFi sector in the bear market has slowed down the entry pace for Web2 gaming companies, at the same time there are no explosive new games uprising in the industry. Under these circumstances, Game Space is turning strategies and found a great opportunity to focus on  --- Casual GameFi (GameFi Mini-Games).

**If AAA games can’t make it, will mini-games?**

In order to promote GameFi SDK, Game Space developed a Web3 version of the classic mini-game Merge Bird in 2022 as a prototype to show gaming developers how easy it can be to bring them rapidly on-chain within 7 days. This small move immediately brought 20K+ followers on Game Space’s Twitter and mass casual gamers started to flood on Game Space App. Afterwards, Game Space has launched Goat! Goat! (a classic match 3 and clear game) which acquired 600K+ weekly active users in the first week of its launch.

Despite being an easy to play and fun game, players can earn mystery boxes of varying rarity such as gold, silver and bronze after passing the game. The mystery boxes can be sold on the NFT Marketplace, and through opening the mystery boxes, gamers can win USDT and different levels of Merge Bird NFTs. The random incentive introduced by the mystery boxes has created high participation for gamers, data shows that Goat!Goat! has reached over 6M+ rounds, produced 2M+ mystery boxes and 1.5M Merge Bird NFTs, setting an all-time record for Casual GameFi games.

After these mini-games, Game Space has launched Magic Pot and MythMania, over 1M+ Merge Bird NFTs were consumed in Magic Pot. In MythMania, the blind box incentive can be amplified 10 times by paying to open a mystery box, making the whole platform consistently profitable. This case is especially rare in a bear market when the platform has not yet issued Tokens to break even and keep growing.

**Why Casual GameFi is growing against the odds?**

According to statistics, there are more than 4 billion users of mini-games in the global market, and the casual games market will exceed $500 million in 2022 alone. There has always been a huge strength in mini-games, with short and easy development cycles, relatively easy to design the economic models and a huge user base due to the addition of social attributes. Moreover, with 77% of the user base and over 1 billion monthly users, mini-games are often overlooked by the mainstream market, but are in fact the mainstay of gaming.

According to Cameron, the success of Game Space in the Casual GameFi sector is due to several reasons. First, it is easy to get started. Mini-games are easy to play, flexible and can consume some of the fragmented leisure time, which makes them able to  attract a considerable amount of user scale and engagements. This is a feature and advantage of mini-games compared to AAA games, which require complicated login and account pre-set ups. Second, its due to the choices of the mini-games, from Merge Bird to Goat! Goat! then Melon Fusion, Game Space insists on choosing to transform current or former hit mini-games into Casual GameFi games, which brings promise to the games being playable. Thirdly, the capacity must be efficient. Based on Game Space's GaaS SDK, all Casual GameFi games modifications are now completed within seven days, which is a key reason why Game Space is able to continue to hunt down market hotspots and breakthroughs.

A loyal Game Space player Santosh said: “Before, I would be spending 1-2 hours on Voodoo (a traditional Web2 mini-game platform), after downloading Game Space I haven’t played any other platforms games because it has all my favorite mini-games on it. Other than that, I can also win rewards daily. Mini-games are truly a great way to pass time and are friendly to everyone.”

**The “lego effects” of GameFi**

The combination of a series of Casual GameFi forms an effective ecosystem, similar to “the lego” effect in DeFi. Uniswap, for example, developed the underlying protocol for the AMM mechanism, which can be used in various lending platforms such as Curve, while vault projects such as YFI aggregate the proceeds of the various lending protocols. Each project has only a few or a few dozen developers, but “building these lego blocks” can form an effective overlay of multiple projects together, hence it adds up to a huge DeFi industry.

It is the same for Game Space, the “lego effect” is evident in Game Space Casual GameFi Hub. By launching a series of Casual GameFi games to form an ecosystem, each with a separate set of output consumption scenarios, while the USDT, game tools, NFTs and Game Points (GP) generated in the games can be interchanged and converted to form an effective overlay. For instance, the mystery boxes obtained in Goat! Goat! can be used in MythMania, the Merge Bird NFTs produced in MythMania can be used in Merge Bird and so on. The combination of multiple games not only multiplies the fun, but also creates a more robust economic model, avoiding the short life cycle of single games in the Play-to-Earn era.

**What’s next for Game Space?**

Game Space has announced it will be upgraded into a Casual GameFi Hub to bring an extra hour of happiness for everyone in Web3! In the first quarter of 2023, Game Space is planning to launch more than 10 hit GameFi mini-games, and expand to 20 in Q2. Game Space's Twitter followers are about to pass the 100K+ mark and expects to build up to 1M+ users within a year through the Casual GameFi strategy, building up to the explosive growth of the bull market in 2024.

There are two components required to build this kind of service in Web3. The first is a widely adopted DID system for discovering & resolving identities. The second is a secure & private way to message between those identities.

While CyberConnect offers a decentralized social graph protocol that includes a DID system (built around the ERC-721 compliant ccProfile), it currently lacks a peer-to-peer communication system. Likewise, XMTP offers a decentralized messaging protocol for secure & private peer-to-peer messaging between Web3 identities, yet it lacks a widely adopted DID system. This is where the integration of CyberConnect & XMTP comes in.

One of the key benefits of XMTP is its extensible design, which enables a diverse set of use cases for sending message data between Web3 identities. XMTP also provides a high degree of security and privacy by using encryption and authentication mechanisms to protect message data from unauthorized access.

Integrating XMTP with CyberConnect has several benefits. Firstly, it enables secure, peer-to-peer messaging over a decentralized network of nodes. This means that messages are not stored on a central server, and there is no need for a third party to handle messages. Secondly, it ensures that messages are delivered securely to the intended recipient, as the ccProfile handle is used to resolve EVM addresses to identities. Finally, it ensures that messages are tamper-proof, as XMTP uses encryption to ensure that messages are only readable by the intended recipient.

Putting the two together, and modifying the CyberConnect protocol to include XMTP private messaging, we can ensure that messages are securely delivered to the intended recipient, without any third-party involvement.

Enabling secure & private peer-to-peer messaging across nodes in a decentralized social graph is a crucial step towards solving the communication problems in Web3.

### Cyber Restaking Points

LRT, or Liquid Restaking Token, allows users to stake their ETH to accrue staking rewards and automatically restake their ETH in EigenLayer. LRT enjoys the both benefits of staking and restaking yield, and the liquidity to explore other opportunities within the ecosystem.

2. **How do I earn points in Cyber restaking?** 
You can accumulate points by restaking LRTs. Additional points are available by referring others to restake.

3. **What benefits do I get from inviting others to restake LRT?** 
You earn extra points based on your invitees' restaking points. You'll receive 15% of the restaking points from your direct invitees and 5% from your second-degree invitees (those invited by your invitees). Your referral code can be used for an unlimited number of times.

4. **When can I withdraw LRT?** 
You can withdraw any time and keep the points and yield already earned, without any waiting period.

5. **Where is the reward coming from?** 
The reward comes from native ETH staking yield + restaking yield from EigenLayer (including rewards for running AVS to power Cyber L2) + EigenLayer points + LRT points + Cyber Restaking points.
Here’s how Cyber Restaking Points are calculated:
Any staked amount less than 2 ETH (pufETH, weETH, ezETH, the same below) can get 24,000 points per day per ETH, and the amount higher than 2 ETH can get 12,000 points per day per ETH.
For example, the points for a user restaking 3 weETH for 90 days are 2×90×24,000 + 1×90×12,000 = 5,400,000.

### CyberConnect Protocol Engagements

CyberConnect is a decentralized social graph protocol. Different dApps, Link3 being only one of them, build on top of the protocol and leverage different protocol components. ### Referral

Every FanClub member has a unique referral link that can be used by new members to join. For each successful referral, both the referrer and the referee will receive extra FanPoints as rewards! Additionally, the referrer will get 10% of the referee’s earnings in the FanClub. Please note that the referral rules are subject to change for anti-bot purposes.

### Previous Contributions

There is also an additional category of special contributions:

- Historical Engagements: one-off points to claim based on your previous verifiable contributions such as the amount of W3STs claimed in the past and Twitter engagements in the last 30 days.

## FanPoints

For every completed contribution, you will be assigned FanPoints(FP) to claim. Connect your wallet on the FanClub page and check on each contribution for the eligible points.

### **Levels and Total FanPoints**

Points claimed will accumulate on your FanPass as Total FanPoints and you will move up the levels accordingly.

Level testifies to your total standing in terms of contribution to the community over time. This is one of the most key info that communities distinguish actual core long-term contributors from mere window shoppers. Expect this to have significance down the line.

FanPoints vary by contribution. And for those contributions that are not one-off, there might be daily or weekly caps to the total points claimable from that activity.

- Currently, points for every CyberConnect Protocol Engagements contribution are capped for every day. It refreshes at 0:00 UTC every day.
- Contributions with weekly caps.
- Currently, points for every Social Twitter Engagements contribution are capped for every week. It refreshes at 0:00 UTC on every Sunday.

CYBER stakers along with CYBER holders can propose and vote on governance proposals on the use of community treasury, protocol upgrades, and council members.

### Network Security

Sequencers are at the core of a Layer 2 network, a centralized sequencer could have a negative impact, such as censoring user transactions, creating a single point of failure, and creating harmful MEVs. Cyber L2 utilizes EigenLayer’s [Actively Validated Services](https://docs.eigenlayer.xyz/eigenlayer/overview/key-terms) (AVS) to build up the fundamental decentralized infrastructures such as sequencer, verifier, and CyberDB. Staked CYBER and restaked ETH are utilized as delegations to different AVS operators running these infrastructures, and a slashing mechanism is implemented to ensure operational integrity, optimize performance and maximize network security.

Enable Video-sharing in Web3 Social - built with CyberConnect & Livepeer

Dear CyberConnect community members,

On 01/09/2023, our peers in the community brought to our attention a slip-up in the first proposal at Cyber DAO. Although we acted quickly to void the proposal, it wasn’t fast enough to quell the rumor mill of crypto Twitter, which filled the market with fear, uncertainty, and doubt around CYBER. We take full responsibility for this mistake and are introducing safeguards in place so events like this are never repeated again. We assure the community that the rumors regarding CYBER token manipulation and market control triggered by incorrect token circulating supply are unfounded.

With this statement, we want to communicate with you directly and clear the air around this volatile and rapidly changing situation.

Since early this week, we have seen a surge in demand for CYBER in Korea. Due to the major Korean exchanges currently only supporting deposits and withdrawals of CYBER on Ethereum,   this dynamic, unfortunately, seeded a precarious market situation, creating unprecedented price differences in CYBER across exchanges. As almost every other exchange around the world ran low on CYBER supply on Ethereum, we noticed concerns and complaints from the CyberConnect community about CYBER’s availability in the markets. Therefore, we introduced **[CP-1] CYBER Multichain Liquidity Balance** proposal in Cyber DAO to address this volatile situation and make access to CYBER equitable and fair across exchanges.

The proposal had one objective - to optimize CYBER liquidity across three networks (ETH, OP, and BNB) by deploying a bridge and addressing the significant imbalance of token distribution among users and exchanges. The proposal was intended to contain the undesirable situation where CYBER on ETH has a large premium versus CYBER on BNB Chain or CYBER on OP, and ultimately make the price discovery for the token more efficient. Unfortunately, there was a slip-up in the proposal addressing the currently unlocked amount of CYBER in the community treasury, causing confusion and ultimately requiring nullification. The most updated state of CYBER unlocks and circulating supply is readily available on this [Dune](https://dune.com/cyberconnecthq/cybertoken) dashboard.

To be clear, a bridge, as proposed in [CP-1], remains the best available avenue for the CyberConnect community to ensure a healthy balance in token liquidity across the three networks on which it is deployed. This bridge will allow us to ensure this healthy balance without unlocking any new CYBER or altering the token’s current circulating and total supply. CYBER on Ethereum, Optimism, and BNB Chain is the same token, and with no mechanism for bridging, will always remain vulnerable to precarious market conditions, as we have witnessed in the past couple of days.

Here’s what we’re going to do to rectify this situation and ensure this is never repeated again:

**1.** A new, updated proposal will be introduced in Cyber DAO to receive the community’s sanction for a bridge so CYBER can be bridged freely across Ethereum, Optimism, and BNB Chain. The proposal will have a multiple-day voting period to allow for proper review and discussions.

**2.** An external, reputable expert will be appointed to conduct a security audit for the bridge before being deployed to ensure the maximum safety of community treasury funds.

**3.** This [Dune dashboard](https://dune.com/cyberconnecthq/cybertoken) has been set up to provide a clear view of CYBER’s total and circulating supply at all times and the multi-sig wallets where the unlocked tokens are held.

**Communication is the backbone of every industry.**

**Things to Remember:**

- A snapshot has already been taken at 6 AM UTC on August 1, 2023, for the existing holders of the above-mentioned NFTs, and transferring has been suspended. **Please do not attempt to transfer NFTs, as it will result in a loss of gas fee.**

- Opening an unopened Mystery Box will have no effect on the reward distribution. **Please do not attempt to open Mystery Box as it will result in a loss of gas fee.**

- Unclaimed Mystery Boxes, Mini Shards, and W3ST will be automatically airdropped to users’ wallets. **Please do not claim them as it will result in a loss of gas fee.**

## Updated Token Distribution

CYBER token holders have voting power and can delegate their voting power to others. Protocol improvements are decided based on voting power.

- **Payment for CyberID**

- **CyberAccount Gas**
CYBER will be used as the price meter and means of payment for gas fees for all transactions within CyberAccount across EVM-compatible chains.

It’s CYBER time: Now Live on Binance Launchpool

We're excited to share our next steps as we move forward from the Cyber developer mainnet. Over the coming weeks, we'll be working closely with key infrastructure partners, such as EigenLayer, EigenDA, Optimism, LayerZero, and QuickNode, to ensure the security and performance of Cyber leading up to the official mainnet campaign starting in mid-June.

One of the most critical parts of this process, especially for our community members who’ve already participated in staking CYBER, is the introduction of Cyber Mainnet Staking.

With Cyber Mainnet Staking, CYBER holders can utilize and stake CYBER tokens to:

- secure the network as a node operators on Cyber,
- earn & exercise voting rights, and
- receive economic rewards from the ecosystem.

Here's how stakers can earn extra rewards by joining Early Access to CYBER Mainnet Staking from May 22 to June 3, and what to expect after the official launch of CYBER Mainnet Staking on June 8.

## Early Access to Cyber Mainnet Staking

On June 8, 1,000,000 CYBER of staking rewards will be allocated to our stakers based on their Season 1 staking points. On this date, Cyber Mainnet Staking will officially starts, allowing users to stake CYBER on Cyber using EigenLayer’s Actively Validated Services (AVS). This will power Cyber’s essential decentralized infrastructure, including the sequencer, verifier, and CyberDB.

Meanwhile, we have opened up early access to mainnet staking on [https://cyber.co/stake](https://cyber.co/stake). If you currently stake CYBER on ETH, OP, or BSC, you have two options:

**Option 1:** Opt in Early Access from May 22 to June 3 to earn additional rewards.

- An extra 30% multiplier is applied to your Season 1 staking points from Mar 8 to June 8, resulting in 30% more staking rewards.
- Your staked CYBER is automatically migrated to Cyber, saving you up to $50 in gas and transaction fees.
- A total of 10,000,000 Link3 Score is distributed among Early Access Users.
- During Cyber Mainnet Staking, stakers can withdraw or unstake anytime following a 7-day waiting period.

**Option 2:** Not opt in of Early Access and claim rewards on June 8th.

- You can manually bridge staked CYBER to Cyber, however, a gas fee applies unlike if you participate in Early Access.
- You can unstake and withdraw CYBER on the original blockchain used for staking, subject to a 7-day waiting period.

## Cyber Mainnet Staking

The launch of the Cyber mainnet introduces Cyber Mainnet Staking. This innovative mechanism not only bolsters network security but also democratizes governance, allowing users to actively participate in decision-making processes. We are extremely grateful for our community who have already staked more than 4.2 million CYBER even before the mainnet launch. We can’t wait to share with you what’s coming for Cyber Mainnet Staking!

**Governance**

CYBER stakers, along with CYBER holders, can propose and vote on CyberDAO governance proposals on Cyber.

**Network Security**

Cyber utilizes EigenLayer's Actively Validated Services (AVS) to build up the fundamental decentralized infrastructures such as sequencer, verifier, and CyberDB. Staked CYBER and restaked ETH are utilized as delegations to different AVS operators running this infrastructure.

**Staking Rewards**

CYBER is staked to AVS operators that run sequencers, verifiers, and CyberDB to enhance Cyber's security. In return, it is intended that CYBER stakers will share the revenue from these services programmatically.

From June 8 to September 8, 500k CYBER rewards will be allocated to incentivize mainnet stakers during this period. To supply ample rewards for CYBER stakers initially and ensure long-term sustainability, a total staking Incentive of 5.5M CYBER has been specifically designed to be distributed over the next six years.

**Ecosystem Airdrop & Launchpad**

Cyber attracts top-notch developers who are passionate about creating innovative services and products. The platform offers an ideal environment for developers to express their creativity and bring ideas to life. As the Cyber ecosystem continues to thrive and expand, CYBER stakers enjoy the potential benefits of receiving points, token airdrops, and other rewards from the ecosystem.*

Gabby World builds its social features and functions on top of CyberConnect, the decentralized social graph protocol. Current integration plan includes:

- **Profile:** Gabby Profile fully integrates with ccProfile, enabling users to add personality and interest tags as metadata to their ccProfile, enriching their Web3 social identity

## **Introduction to Web3 Social**

The use of decentralized, blockchain technology is changing the way our world operates. While the most popular use case of blockchain has been financialization (tokens, DeFi, and NFTs), the technology is now being used to power new forms of identity, data ownership, and communication enablement in the form of blockchain-powered social networks, known as **Web3 Social**. In this article, we examine the core value propositions of Web3 Social, how the various protocols and platforms work, the level of product-market fit seen today and its potential to become the future of how we interact, build communities, make friends and transact online.

The best way to understand the viability of Web3 Social is to first understand how past waves of innovation came to be and assess if Web3 Social shares similar characteristics. Waves of innovation are found at the crossroads of technology innovation and new consumer / business value; they change the way our world works and in hindsight often feel obvious. Just like the real world, tsunamis are often followed by several large waves. For example, silicon chips and the internet were tsunamis followed by waves of personal computing, e-commerce, digital financial services, and web2 social platforms. In web3, Blockchain is the new tsunami, followed by the waves of decentralized finance, dapps and NFTs. Will Web3 Social be a new wave? Will it provide enough additional value than its predecessors? Let’s dive into the proposed Key Value Propositions Web3 Social offers.

## **Key Value Propositions** 

### 1. Open Data & Portability 

The social media applications we use today leverage complex underlying data networks that make our experiences possible. These are called “**social graphs**”; interconnected data structures that map our digital relationships and interactions, who we follow and subscribe to, what we like and more. In Web 2.0, social graphs are private systems with all assets, data and behavioral analysis owned or controlled by internet companies. As users, we lack any real ownership or control of this data and as a consequence social graphs are “siloed” and walled-off  from other platforms; our identities and experiences will likely never be connected across platforms. To use new platforms, users have to rebuild past social connections and history, but this comes with significant friction, leading to platform lock-in. If end users want to switch from one application to another, they have to start from scratch.

How is Web3 Social different? For one, it aims to establish a base layer where users' social graph data is transparent, permissionless, portable, and most importantly in their control. Let us call this model “**open data**.”

**Open data** allows users to easily onboard new applications built on the same social graphs without having to deal with this redundancy issue. Anyone who uses Web3 Social platforms can take their data to whichever app they want. Imagine a world where Joe Rogan and Spotify decided to part ways. Today, Joe Rogan and other creators have limited access to their fans, subscribers and content, and he’d, in some respects, have to start over on another platform. With Joe Rogan’s popularity, that shouldn’t be an issue, but for 99% of artists, this is a big deal.

Isolated data prevents independent developers from tapping into these social graphs and **building new experiences and applications for users** on top of them. Consequently, innovation in the social app space has a massive cold-start problem. New social applications are frequently being developed, but often fail as they are not able to get traction. With Web3 Social, users may be more willing to try new social experiences if they can bring their data and friends along. An example of a new, novel Web3 Social experience is Link3, a social application built on the CyberConnect protocol. Link3 is a mixture of LinkedIn, Medium, and Eventbrite, but with crypto primitives embedded within it — allowing you to connect your wallet, NFTs, ENS names to build your profile & reach. There are many more examples of novel social experiences stimulated by Web3 Social that will be covered in following sections.

Eliminating data silos also lowers the barrier to entry for new developers, reducing the network effect of gated social graphs that otherwise monopolize user data. Open data can allow applications to read and write data to ***multiple*** social graph protocols; users can connect their IDs from multiple Web3 Social profiles to one application, and to many applications. Phaver is a good example of a Web3 Social application that connects the social graph of users from different networks in one interface, by integrating with both Lens Protocol and CyberConnect.

Open data standards simply allow us to create more without borders.

We are seeing examples of open data within existing Web2 Social applications today. META, the owner of Facebook and Instagram, recently launched Threads. While the long-term value of Threads as an application is yet to be determined, Threads allows users to instantly follow and connect with their Instagram friends as soon as they sign up. However, your data on Instagram and Threads is still siloed within the walls of META. Threads announced the possibility of integrating with ActivityPub, a standard communication protocol that allows users to interact with all platforms using ActivityPub, but has not integrated yet.

The walled gardens of Web2 Social also have a tremendous impact on businesses operating on those platforms. Reddit recently enforced API pricing which led to several applications shutting down, much to the outcry of the community. This would not be a problem if Reddit was built on Web3 Social infrastructure as these apps & communities would be able to  bring their followers and content to new platforms with more favorable terms or value alignment.

On the content creation side, a lack of platform lock-in will give creators the choice to migrate to a different application while retaining ownership of their social graph data, mitigating situations where platforms change their monetization, moderation, or revenue sharing models. In Web2 Social, data silos inhibit creators from having this freedom of choice.

### 2. Composability: unlocking a sea of new possibilities

Since Web3 Social protocols are deployed on blockchains, they are often highly composable with other smart contracts and protocols. This open data architecture allows developers of new crypto innovations to freely integrate with Web3 Social protocols & apps — like connecting a user’s on-chain history to populate their social profile, displaying the NFTs they own as credentials and enabling them to turn their content and posts into NFTs and potentially sell them. Composability is lacking in traditional social media, and even in the few cases where crypto was integrated with Web2 Social, it was neither native nor complete.

Coupled with open data, web3 composability enables creative developers to integrate their social platform with crypto protocols — from DeFi apps, metaverse games, DAOs, NFTs and everything in between. For example, Warpcast is a platform built on the Farcaster protocol that allows users to locate other members of the same NFT communities, holders of the same POAP, and even link ENS domains to a user’s profile. These functionalities are enabled by connecting an Ethereum address to a profile, creating an on-chain holistic identity. Other platforms also offer similar features, with some like Phaver allowing users to connect their Lens profiles, ENS domains, and Farcaster ID to a single profile. Another example of Web3 composability is CyberConnect’s subscription models, which allow users to define creator-to-subscriber relationships through the power of SubscribeNFTs.

Another possibility is  SocialFi, a concept Mason Nystrom from Variant Capital [wrote about recently](https://variant.fund/articles/socialfi-financial-component-web3-social-media-apps/). SocialFi refers to the integration of the social layer and the financial layer of someone's digital life. Imagine what traditional social media platforms would do if they had unlimited access to traditional financial exchanges, banks, lending providers, crowdfunding platforms, etc. Other SocialFi features include micropayments enabled on a Web3 Social app, on-chain lending credit scores connected to a social identity and biometric proof-of-personhood connected to a social profile.

The possibilities for crypto composability are endless, as Web3 primitives continue to expand and develop - new experiences await.

### 3. Next-Level Community Enablement

Blockchain infrastructure is a powerful tool to bring people together over a common purpose. We saw this in the last few years with token-powered communities coordinating a bid for the American Constitution (ConstitutionDAO), vote for DeFi protocol governance (Uniswap, Safe, Maker, Gnosis), invest in digital art (e.g. PleasrDAO) and build social clubs around NFT collections. Participants became owners and highly engaged stakeholders.

Combining new innovations like dynamic NFTs with emerging Web3 social protocols will take these experiences to the next level. This can be further augmented by combining real-world data into Web3; for example certifications, purchases, relationships, more relevant communities can be spun up instantly, genuine relationships will be more easily formed, and new forms of commerce will emerge.

Visualize a web3 social graph connected by holistic identities (say, NFT profiles or other forms of tokenization) that can cross-reference similar characteristics with each other. Open data and transparency allow platforms to automatically spin up communities based on profiles sharing similar characteristics with other profiles in the social graph.

Some thought experiments:

- A user of a LinkedIn-esque web3 platform could attach an identifier to their profile that associates them with their alma mater university, let’s say in the form of an NFT attribute. The platform could automatically create an alumni networking community for users with the same alma mater; in similar ways, communities can be created automatically, globally, and exempt from web2 data moats using such methods. Not only does it allow individuals to join communities, but it also allows artists, writers, influencers, and other creators to build communities with all those who follow them.
- Imagine an author who sells a book with an attached NFT, and every NFT holder (also an authenticated purchaser of the book) can join a community to talk about the book and communicate with the author. As we will see soon, there are also real examples of Web 3 community enablement, including users of Warpcast and other Web3 Social apps being able to easily find user profiles of others in the same NFT ownership community. These forms of global and unified community enablement transcend what web2 can currently do.

Orb, a Web3 Social application, is bringing some of these thought experiments to life. Orb allows for the transformation of any on-chain activity or possession into a cohesive community. Possessing a specific quantity of a particular ERC-20 token, holding an NFT ticket for a specific event, or collecting publications, for instance, can all be moulded into distinct communities. Web3 Social allows for new ways of building communities, make friends and at a much deeper level than what exists today.

### 4. Censorship Resistance & Ownership

Regardless of creed, belief or opinion, freedom of speech and expression is arguably a cornerstone of social media, though the limits are always under debate. Given the power and control traditional social platforms hold over our data, they are in an unparalleled position to moderate what is said online and deplatform users at their discretion. There is no recourse for the user other than to just deal with it.

A recent instance of platform moderation was revealed to the public after Elon Musk took over Twitter (now rebranded as “X”). The “Twitter Files”, a series of revealed internal Twitter documents, revealed how the company app was suppressing and controlling information on the platform behest of governments’ requests or information it deemed to be unsafe. While Elon advocated for truth and transparency with the “Twitter Files”, ironically, after Twitter rebranded to “X”, the company unceremoniously claimed the “@x” handle from a user. This also happened with the account who owned the “@music” handle.

These examples highlight how in traditional web2 platforms users are never truly the master of their own identity, account and in some cases their voice. Web3 social solves this - to an extent. Applications built on Web3 Social protocols *can* still moderate content, but users maintain full ownership and the option to leave one application for another and still keep their data, or even build their own censorship-resistant application if all else fails. The core tenet here is that there is no lock-in to a particular application – whenever users want to, they can abandon a social application and migrate to a brand new one, taking all their data with them.

### Key Value Propositions – Conclusion

What’s so exciting about Web3 Social is that it unlocks entirely new experiences for community, commerce, composability, engagement, ownership and identity, all while it serves to solve some of the core ills of existing Web2 Social platforms. New ways to build community, make friends and transact are around the corner.

What’s also exciting is the caliber of entrepreneurs entering the space. Within Superscrypt’s investments, Airstack, Collab.Land, Orb, Notifi and Salsa are solving different challenges on access, experience, or interoperability of Web3 Social.

There is still much work needed to bring Web3 Social to the masses; the technology and adoption is growing, but still in its infancy. We expect more iterations before true product-market-fit is achieved and will share more updates soon.

Web3 Social: Driving New Forms of Identity, Connection & Value Creation


We are excited to announce some changes to our weekly Fan Club raffle system that are designed to protect the interests of our long-time community members and Link3 users. Before delving into the details of the new system, we would like to take a moment to address our community.

Since the launch of the CyberConnect Fan Club, our goal has been to reward our dedicated community members and long-term supporters. Unfortunately, we have consistently encountered Sybil attacks that have led to an unfair distribution of the reward pool.

For instance, address 0x82…43a4 has funded gas fees to over 1,700 addresses in early April, allowing each address to easily purchase seven raffle tickets every week. Without intervention, this Sybil account could have amassed over 11,000 tickets and won 5,000 mini-shards from the raffle every week.

As a solution, we will now divide the reward pool into a Main Pool and a Side Pool, and introduce a Credit Point system to differentiate human users from bots. Users with 24+ Credit Points will have access to the Main Pool and will be able to share the majority of the rewards.

We acknowledge that this is not a perfect solution, and we appreciate your patience and support as we work to implement additional changes to ensure a fair distribution of rewards. ### **What is Atem Network**

Atem is a decentralized content creation protocol, and we aim at helping creators tokenize their content and build Web3-native communities. On top of our protocol, we have built two products, AtemChat and AtemReview.

All content created on AtemReview can also be shared across applications integrated with CyberConnect’s social graph protocol.
