## On airdrops as a marketing tactic

Airdrops are a popular marketing tactic used by blockchain projects to distribute free tokens or coins to a large number of users. This is done to generate interest in the project, incentivize community engagement, and reward early adopters. Airdrops are typically distributed to users who meet certain criteria, such as holding a certain amount of a particular cryptocurrency or completing specific tasks. The tokens or coins are usually distributed directly to users’ cryptocurrency wallets, making the process easy and efficient.

But while airdrops have become an important marketing tactic in the blockchain industry, incentivizing users to become more involved with the project, they’ve also been gamed by experts who use bots and other tactics to get the rewards, despite not being genuine members of the community.

Melly has significant experience with airdrops and their challenges — PlanetIX’s largest was worth about $6M. He says that people gaming the system are not that much of an issue.

“Everything is based on on-chain activity. If you try to game the system, you’re still an active user, and it will still be a net positive for the ecosystem,” he said. However, he added that they are constantly trying to incentivize genuine activity. “We are constantly trying to find ways to get as many real players as possible — like making it beneficial to play on one wallet account.”

Overall, the industry-wide effects of airdrops have been more significant than when looking at this tactic through the lens of any particular project. Airdrops have taught participants in Web3 that engaging in the space is valuable.

“Most people have learned by now that if you just stay active, see what’s coming, and use the protocols in the newest areas, you will be rewarded,” Melly said. “When you look back at the DeFi summer, a lot of people got rewarded, and we’ve seen it also with NFTs, where a lot of users got airdropped or claims for a lot of tokens if you had previously used other platforms.”

## How AI will change Web3 gaming

One of the unfortunate use cases for AI will inevitably be the proliferation of bots, and more advanced ones. Luckily, there are ways to spot bots with on-chain and off-chain data. For example, bots often run for 24 hours. If you look at heat maps for wallets, it’ll probably show that some wallets are active either all the time or during exact, suspicious hours.Combining both on-chain and off-chain data is critical to discovering bots and understanding users.

“When you’re in a space that’s still niche and highly competitive in terms of what’s coming from Web2, you need to become as efficient as possible, and AI is not going away, it’s only going to get bigger,” said Melly. “I’m sure that we’re going to be using it more going forward.”

## What developers can focus on to create successful, sustainable games

Ultimately, strategies for tokenomics, gameplay and retention depend on the stage a project is in and its long-term goals. PlanetIX is an example of a Web2 project that bridges to Web3, so didn’t have to go through the process of finding new users when starting building.

As we go forward, many startups and projects will likewise look to onboard gamers from Web2.

“Instead of thinking about metrics, you should be thinking about how you could bring in these people. If you’re coming in, and you’re only wanting to get users from the Web3 pool, that could be really hard. There’s really not that many people there playing games right now,” said Melly.

“I think it’s more about stepping back and asking how the Web3 community can collectively try to work for getting more users from Web2 into the space. That’s how we win, otherwise everyone’s fighting for scraps.”

For PlanetIX, onboarding these new users was mostly about making them feel comfortable and safe in the new on-chain environment, which can be fraught with danger for newbies.

“If you’re new and you just arrived \[on-chain] there’s a lot of ways that you can be unlucky. As much time you can spend \[making these users feel comfortable], that goes a long way,” he said.

“We took a bet that if we put a lot of effort in making them feel comfortable, they will stay with us. For example, we just had our Head of Growth traveling around SEA going to events that our community set up… Trust and connection are valuable.”

## Here’s the difference between Web2 and Web3 marketing

“A lot of the ways you advertise in Web2 are not the way you advertise in Web3, especially because a lot of places know that you’re dealing with NFTs of any sort makes it really difficult for you to advertise and not have your ads taken down or shut off,” said Melly.

“That just means there’s a lot more guerilla tactics, a lot more creative marketing. I think one of the best ways you can go about it is to consider how far you can get with the strength of your community and also with partnerships.”

Because the pool of Web3 users and projects is relatively small, raising awareness is not particularly difficult — the key in impressing new users with your product. “If your product’s not good enough, then it’s hard to get users.”

Melly added that, despite the limitations Web3 marketers face, the industry is constantly getting new tools to approach the Web2 marketing experience.

## How to make your tokenomics not be Ponzinomics

According to Footprint data, 90% of games released go inactive within their first 30 days.

This happens both from being a bad game, or bad tokenomics, or both. There are a lot of overlapping factors, but unsustainable tokenmics is a big one.

For Planet IX, creating a sustainable ecosystem is all about maintaining a symbiotic relationship between different kinds of players.

“There’s the players who farm really heavy. They, most of the time, live in lower-income areas and have a lot of time they can put in. They don’t need to earn so much for it to be valuable. Then you have the players with higher wallet sizes and they don’t have the same amount of time, but they have more money to put into either buying their way into the top,” Melly said. For PlanetIX, it’s about having a balance of these different types of users.

## TL;DR:

- The current bridging landscape is dominated by two technologies: M-of-N Bridges, which rely on multisigs or PoS systems to verify transactions between chains, and Intent Bridges, which utilize a series of solvers to quickly execute and settle transactions on the destination chain while waiting for reconciliation/settlement to occur using either an M-of-N bridge or an optimistic bridge.
- Beyond simple asset transfers, intent-based systems now support complex transactions like cross-chain swaps with conditional settlements, showcasing the potential for more intricate blockchain operations.
- Addressing solver liquidity issues and the complexities of rebalancing across chains, newer systems like Connext V2 have introduced mechanisms that abstract these challenges, aiming to enhance solver efficiency and decentralize operations.

In Q1 of 2021, the interoperability of programmable blockchains took off with the rise of Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and Polygon as affordable and fast scalability solutions compared to the increasingly costly Ethereum Mainnet (L1). Users would access BSC via Binance and then try to use bridges to get to Polygon, xDAI, Avalanche, and other chains directly, bypassing L1.

Given this landscape, by Q2 of 2021, Connext redirected its focus from building scalability mechanisms using state channels to creating its first intent-based system, aligning with the broader trend towards more sophisticated blockchain interactions.

# Connext’s Evolution to Intent-Based Systems

Connext initially implemented state channels to batch multiple one-to-one user interactions off-chain, with final updates being posted on-chain. This setup served as an early model for the more comprehensive intent-based systems that would follow. By 2021, it became evident that cross-chain transfers dominated Connext’s transaction volume, prompting a strategic refocus towards these systems with the introduction of NXTP (Connext V1). This version adapted Connext’s framework to better support the prevalent user behavior of transferring assets like stablecoins and Ethereum across chains, primarily for farming yields.

This shift paved the way for Connext V2, also known as Amarok, which represents the current iteration of the protocol. Amarok has built upon the foundational work of its predecessors to enhance the decentralization and efficiency of managing cross-chain transactions.

# Bridging Models and Technologies

The maturation of the blockchain space has seen the rise of two leading bridging technologies: M-of-N bridges and Intent bridges. M-of-N bridges, utilized by protocols like Multichain, Stargate, Axelar, Wormhole, and others, operate based on a multi-signature or Proof of Stake set to verify transactions between chains. Conversely, intent bridges, such as those implemented by Connext, Hop, Across, DLN, Squid, and others, rely on solvers to execute transactions on the target chain, often with reconciliation/settlement occurring optimistically or supported by an underlying M-of-N bridge.

The development of these models indicates a diversification within the blockchain space. They cater to varied user needs and enhance the functionality of cross-chain transactions.

# Solver Selection and Intent Pools

As Connext evolved from its initial versions to more advanced intent-based systems, a significant area of development was solver selection — how transactions are matched with solvers and who can fulfill them on the target chain. This process has seen various approaches from different protocols, each with distinct advantages and trade-offs.

### A Deeper Exploration into Approaches to Solver Selection

**No Selection/Mempool:** In the simplest form, transactions are made on-chain in the chain’s mempool, where solvers compete to fill them first.

- Benefits: This model offers high guarantees on latency as solvers vie to submit transactions quickly.
- Drawbacks: This model exposes transactions to potential issues like Miner Extractable Value (MEV) and can lead to wasted resources if solvers do not win the race to fill the transaction.

**Request for Quote (RFQ):** In this approach, users express their intent off-chain through a user interface (UI), and solvers respond directly with their quotes. Users then select a solver’s quote and proceed with the transaction.

- Benefits: This decentralized model is efficient for pricing, minimizing latency akin to estimating gas costs.
- Drawbacks: RFQ systems rely heavily on the stability of browser environments, which can be unreliable due to browsers lacking robust support for P2P messages. This may lead to users losing connection or failing to receive quotes from solvers. This approach also requires increased 1:1 interactivity between users and solvers, creating a liveness dependency. Similar to atomic swaps, if solvers go offline (or run out of funds/gas) after providing the quote but before completing the transaction, the user becomes stuck until a timeout occurs. Ideally, this process should involve multiple solvers (1:n) where any solver can complete the transaction.

**Private Intentpools:** This model involves intents being broadcast to a private mempool where an operator runs an auction to select a solver.

- Benefits: This approach decouples the user-solver direct interaction into a user-network and network-solver relationship, enhancing reliability.
- Drawbacks: This method introduces a central operator that could exert undue influence or experience downtime.

**Public Intentpools:** A more decentralized alternative, public intent pools operate similarly to private ones but with the added benefit of public verifiability.

- Benefits: This model uses a shared mempool that acts as a global auction or ordering mechanism for solvers, improving transparency and trust in the process.
- Drawbacks: This model makes it difficult for competing intent protocols to give up their orderflow to a public ecosystem.

Each method reflects different priorities in system design — such as speed, decentralization, and reliability — and showcases the diverse strategies employed by different protocols to optimize the intent fulfillment process in modern blockchain networks.

# Generalized Intents

The majority of conversation today centers around using intents for trading, even for cross-domain intents. This makes sense, as trading is currently the largest addressable market in the space. However, intent-based bridging does not need to be limited to transfers of fungible assets.

### Expanding the Scope of Intents

In 2021, Connext realized that solvers could provide *calldata* as part of filling an intent, and their settlement could be conditional upon that *calldata* being correct. This is just another condition upon which solver settlement is predicated. This approach allows for actions like bridging and depositing from one chain to another in a single transaction.

We found it interesting that adding arbitrary conditionality to solver settlement can lead to more intriguing behavior from solvers. For instance, UniswapX enables users to set a minimum amount to receive on the target chain for cross-chain swaps. In this model, solvers can determine the routing of the swap as long as they meet the minimum-amount-received requirement.

Adopting UniswapX’s strategy makes it feasible to expand intents further by allowing settlement conditions to be programmable. Yet, historically, this proved challenging for cross-domain intents because each chain required independent implementation of settlement conditions, posing a high risk of fund loss if not executed correctly.

# Settlement & Rebalancing

### Challenges in Solver Liquidity and Rebalancing

One key challenge unique to cross-domain intents is optimizing settlements to provide the best solver experience. Most intent systems (like Connext v0 and v1) typically settle funds back to solvers on the source chain.

Feedback from solvers indicates that this model is suboptimal for several reasons:

- Solver liquidity moves away from the chains with high utilization and towards chains where it is least useful. Solvers need to rebalance their liquidity to continue earning on it.
- Rebalancing is expensive. Solvers must bridge or transfer funds from less liquid chains, influencing their pricing quotes.
- Rebalancing is complex. Rebalancing requires solvers to engage with bridges, centralized exchanges (CEXs), OTC desks, and more, effectively building an in-house aggregator.
- Solvers can offset costs by netting A→B flows against B→A. However, they need large amounts of capital on each chain to do this effectively, giving market makers an outsized advantage on solving.

Connext v2, Across, and Hop have all introduced mechanisms to abstract rebalancing from solvers. While this in-protocol settlement/rebalancing improves solver decentralization and pricing, the question remains: is it enough?

The present state of intents in blockchain technology reveals a dynamic and evolving field. Intent systems today are far more sophisticated than their predecessors, capable of supporting complex, multi-chain operations and catering to the needs of an increasingly diverse set of applications. As these systems continue to develop, they promise to abstract the complexities of blockchain interactions further, making them more accessible and efficient for users across the globe.

## What exactly *is* Honeypot?

Generally speaking, a “honeypot” is [defined](https://www.techtarget.com/searchsecurity/definition/honey-pot) as follows:

> *“In cybersecurity, a honeypot is a network-attached system set up as a decoy to lure cyber attackers and detect, deflect, and study hacking attempts to gain unauthorized access to information systems.”*

But what exactly is Honeypot, the DApp?

It's a game of sorts. A hacking challenge based on the concept of honeypots. Consider it a treasure hunt with no map, or a pot of gold at the end with one rule: if you can hack it, you can have it — no strings attached.

What Honeypot **is not** is a Bug Bounty or a Capture the Flag (CTF) program. Winners will figure out how to withdraw funds directly to their account. No need to submit a hacking recipe or take any other step. Likewise, there is no previously known solution to the challenge. The Cartesi team is not aware of any possible breaches to the Cartesi Rollup logic.

The game is designed to be a challenge for web3 developers. While attempting to withdraw the funds in a smart contract powered by Cartesi Rollups, they will be testing the security of Cartesi Rollups V1.

## How does it work?

In the backend code of the Honeypot DApp there is logic that only allows Cartesi’s depositor account to withdraw funds. Players face the challenge of breaking the code and withdrawing the funds to an account that *they* own. Go through the [Cartesi Rollups documentation](https://docs.cartesi.io/cartesi-rollups/) to come up with your own idea of how this could be done.

The original size of the honeypot will be 35,000 CTSI. It will then grow based on compounding 8% weekly allocations from the Cartesi Foundation.

What happens if the honeypot is cracked? The winner gets the funds — that’s it. Cartesi will then study the breach, solve it, and deploy another Honeypot to keep strengthening the core technology.

## What are Cartesi Rollups?

The Honeypot DApp operates within the Cartesi Rollups framework, wherein its backend logic runs in a dedicated Cartesi Node on the execution layer. In the case of the Honeypot, the execution layer will be layer-2, with the base layer being Ethereum itself. Asset operations are managed by Cartesi smart contracts on the base layer (layer 1), facilitating communication between the front-end and the Cartesi Node.

This architecture of a Cartesi DApp enables developers to realize substantial enhancements in the computational scalability of the blockchain. This is achieved by relocating the execution logic to nodes on the execution layer, while using the base layer for asset settlement, composability, and dispute resolution.

Not only do Cartesi Rollups address the computational limitations of the blockchain, but they also remedy the absence of a mature software stack for decentralized applications. Cartesi Rollups achieve this by offering modular application-specific optimistic rollups with interactive dispute resolutions, coupled with a mainstream virtual machine capable of executing real operating systems, such as Linux. This effectively allows developers to build scalable DApps with mainstream software stacks, like Python, NumPy, Rust, and many others.

Sequencers are at the core of a Layer 2 network, a centralized sequencer could have a negative impact, such as censoring user transactions, creating a single point of failure, and creating harmful MEVs. Cyber L2 utilizes EigenLayer’s [Actively Validated Services](https://docs.eigenlayer.xyz/eigenlayer/overview/key-terms) (AVS) to build up the fundamental decentralized infrastructures such as sequencer, verifier, and CyberDB. In the ever-evolving landscape of web3 and blockchain technology, how we perceive and interact with digital identities is transforming. ## **Introduction to Web3 Social**

The use of decentralized, blockchain technology is changing the way our world operates. While the most popular use case of blockchain has been financialization (tokens, DeFi, and NFTs), the technology is now being used to power new forms of identity, data ownership, and communication enablement in the form of blockchain-powered social networks, known as **Web3 Social**. In this article, we examine the core value propositions of Web3 Social, how the various protocols and platforms work, the level of product-market fit seen today and its potential to become the future of how we interact, build communities, make friends and transact online.

The best way to understand the viability of Web3 Social is to first understand how past waves of innovation came to be and assess if Web3 Social shares similar characteristics. Waves of innovation are found at the crossroads of technology innovation and new consumer / business value; they change the way our world works and in hindsight often feel obvious. Just like the real world, tsunamis are often followed by several large waves. For example, silicon chips and the internet were tsunamis followed by waves of personal computing, e-commerce, digital financial services, and web2 social platforms. In web3, Blockchain is the new tsunami, followed by the waves of decentralized finance, dapps and NFTs. Will Web3 Social be a new wave? Will it provide enough additional value than its predecessors? Let’s dive into the proposed Key Value Propositions Web3 Social offers.

## **Key Value Propositions** 

### 1. Open Data & Portability 

The social media applications we use today leverage complex underlying data networks that make our experiences possible. These are called “**social graphs**”; interconnected data structures that map our digital relationships and interactions, who we follow and subscribe to, what we like and more. In Web 2.0, social graphs are private systems with all assets, data and behavioral analysis owned or controlled by internet companies. As users, we lack any real ownership or control of this data and as a consequence social graphs are “siloed” and walled-off  from other platforms; our identities and experiences will likely never be connected across platforms. To use new platforms, users have to rebuild past social connections and history, but this comes with significant friction, leading to platform lock-in. If end users want to switch from one application to another, they have to start from scratch.

How is Web3 Social different? For one, it aims to establish a base layer where users' social graph data is transparent, permissionless, portable, and most importantly in their control. Let us call this model “**open data**.”

**Open data** allows users to easily onboard new applications built on the same social graphs without having to deal with this redundancy issue. Anyone who uses Web3 Social platforms can take their data to whichever app they want. Imagine a world where Joe Rogan and Spotify decided to part ways. Today, Joe Rogan and other creators have limited access to their fans, subscribers and content, and he’d, in some respects, have to start over on another platform. With Joe Rogan’s popularity, that shouldn’t be an issue, but for 99% of artists, this is a big deal.

Isolated data prevents independent developers from tapping into these social graphs and **building new experiences and applications for users** on top of them. Consequently, innovation in the social app space has a massive cold-start problem. New social applications are frequently being developed, but often fail as they are not able to get traction. With Web3 Social, users may be more willing to try new social experiences if they can bring their data and friends along. An example of a new, novel Web3 Social experience is Link3, a social application built on the CyberConnect protocol. Link3 is a mixture of LinkedIn, Medium, and Eventbrite, but with crypto primitives embedded within it — allowing you to connect your wallet, NFTs, ENS names to build your profile & reach. There are many more examples of novel social experiences stimulated by Web3 Social that will be covered in following sections.

Eliminating data silos also lowers the barrier to entry for new developers, reducing the network effect of gated social graphs that otherwise monopolize user data. Open data can allow applications to read and write data to ***multiple*** social graph protocols; users can connect their IDs from multiple Web3 Social profiles to one application, and to many applications. Phaver is a good example of a Web3 Social application that connects the social graph of users from different networks in one interface, by integrating with both Lens Protocol and CyberConnect.

Open data standards simply allow us to create more without borders.

We are seeing examples of open data within existing Web2 Social applications today. META, the owner of Facebook and Instagram, recently launched Threads. While the long-term value of Threads as an application is yet to be determined, Threads allows users to instantly follow and connect with their Instagram friends as soon as they sign up. However, your data on Instagram and Threads is still siloed within the walls of META. Threads announced the possibility of integrating with ActivityPub, a standard communication protocol that allows users to interact with all platforms using ActivityPub, but has not integrated yet.

The walled gardens of Web2 Social also have a tremendous impact on businesses operating on those platforms. Reddit recently enforced API pricing which led to several applications shutting down, much to the outcry of the community. This would not be a problem if Reddit was built on Web3 Social infrastructure as these apps & communities would be able to  bring their followers and content to new platforms with more favorable terms or value alignment.

On the content creation side, a lack of platform lock-in will give creators the choice to migrate to a different application while retaining ownership of their social graph data, mitigating situations where platforms change their monetization, moderation, or revenue sharing models. In Web2 Social, data silos inhibit creators from having this freedom of choice.

### 2. Composability: unlocking a sea of new possibilities

Since Web3 Social protocols are deployed on blockchains, they are often highly composable with other smart contracts and protocols. This open data architecture allows developers of new crypto innovations to freely integrate with Web3 Social protocols & apps — like connecting a user’s on-chain history to populate their social profile, displaying the NFTs they own as credentials and enabling them to turn their content and posts into NFTs and potentially sell them. Composability is lacking in traditional social media, and even in the few cases where crypto was integrated with Web2 Social, it was neither native nor complete.

Coupled with open data, web3 composability enables creative developers to integrate their social platform with crypto protocols — from DeFi apps, metaverse games, DAOs, NFTs and everything in between. For example, Warpcast is a platform built on the Farcaster protocol that allows users to locate other members of the same NFT communities, holders of the same POAP, and even link ENS domains to a user’s profile. These functionalities are enabled by connecting an Ethereum address to a profile, creating an on-chain holistic identity. Other platforms also offer similar features, with some like Phaver allowing users to connect their Lens profiles, ENS domains, and Farcaster ID to a single profile. Another example of Web3 composability is CyberConnect’s subscription models, which allow users to define creator-to-subscriber relationships through the power of SubscribeNFTs.

Another possibility is  SocialFi, a concept Mason Nystrom from Variant Capital [wrote about recently](https://variant.fund/articles/socialfi-financial-component-web3-social-media-apps/). SocialFi refers to the integration of the social layer and the financial layer of someone's digital life. Imagine what traditional social media platforms would do if they had unlimited access to traditional financial exchanges, banks, lending providers, crowdfunding platforms, etc. Other SocialFi features include micropayments enabled on a Web3 Social app, on-chain lending credit scores connected to a social identity and biometric proof-of-personhood connected to a social profile.

The possibilities for crypto composability are endless, as Web3 primitives continue to expand and develop - new experiences await.

### 3. Next-Level Community Enablement

Blockchain infrastructure is a powerful tool to bring people together over a common purpose. We saw this in the last few years with token-powered communities coordinating a bid for the American Constitution (ConstitutionDAO), vote for DeFi protocol governance (Uniswap, Safe, Maker, Gnosis), invest in digital art (e.g. PleasrDAO) and build social clubs around NFT collections. Participants became owners and highly engaged stakeholders.

Combining new innovations like dynamic NFTs with emerging Web3 social protocols will take these experiences to the next level. This can be further augmented by combining real-world data into Web3; for example certifications, purchases, relationships, more relevant communities can be spun up instantly, genuine relationships will be more easily formed, and new forms of commerce will emerge.

Visualize a web3 social graph connected by holistic identities (say, NFT profiles or other forms of tokenization) that can cross-reference similar characteristics with each other. Open data and transparency allow platforms to automatically spin up communities based on profiles sharing similar characteristics with other profiles in the social graph.

Some thought experiments:

- A user of a LinkedIn-esque web3 platform could attach an identifier to their profile that associates them with their alma mater university, let’s say in the form of an NFT attribute. The platform could automatically create an alumni networking community for users with the same alma mater; in similar ways, communities can be created automatically, globally, and exempt from web2 data moats using such methods. Not only does it allow individuals to join communities, but it also allows artists, writers, influencers, and other creators to build communities with all those who follow them.
- Imagine an author who sells a book with an attached NFT, and every NFT holder (also an authenticated purchaser of the book) can join a community to talk about the book and communicate with the author. As we will see soon, there are also real examples of Web 3 community enablement, including users of Warpcast and other Web3 Social apps being able to easily find user profiles of others in the same NFT ownership community. These forms of global and unified community enablement transcend what web2 can currently do.

Orb, a Web3 Social application, is bringing some of these thought experiments to life. Orb allows for the transformation of any on-chain activity or possession into a cohesive community. Possessing a specific quantity of a particular ERC-20 token, holding an NFT ticket for a specific event, or collecting publications, for instance, can all be moulded into distinct communities. Web3 Social allows for new ways of building communities, make friends and at a much deeper level than what exists today.

### 4. Censorship Resistance & Ownership

Regardless of creed, belief or opinion, freedom of speech and expression is arguably a cornerstone of social media, though the limits are always under debate. Given the power and control traditional social platforms hold over our data, they are in an unparalleled position to moderate what is said online and deplatform users at their discretion. There is no recourse for the user other than to just deal with it.

A recent instance of platform moderation was revealed to the public after Elon Musk took over Twitter (now rebranded as “X”). The “Twitter Files”, a series of revealed internal Twitter documents, revealed how the company app was suppressing and controlling information on the platform behest of governments’ requests or information it deemed to be unsafe. While Elon advocated for truth and transparency with the “Twitter Files”, ironically, after Twitter rebranded to “X”, the company unceremoniously claimed the “@x” handle from a user. This also happened with the account who owned the “@music” handle.

These examples highlight how in traditional web2 platforms users are never truly the master of their own identity, account and in some cases their voice. Web3 social solves this - to an extent. Applications built on Web3 Social protocols *can* still moderate content, but users maintain full ownership and the option to leave one application for another and still keep their data, or even build their own censorship-resistant application if all else fails. The core tenet here is that there is no lock-in to a particular application – whenever users want to, they can abandon a social application and migrate to a brand new one, taking all their data with them.

### Key Value Propositions – Conclusion

What’s so exciting about Web3 Social is that it unlocks entirely new experiences for community, commerce, composability, engagement, ownership and identity, all while it serves to solve some of the core ills of existing Web2 Social platforms. New ways to build community, make friends and transact are around the corner.

What’s also exciting is the caliber of entrepreneurs entering the space. Within Superscrypt’s investments, Airstack, Collab.Land, Orb, Notifi and Salsa are solving different challenges on access, experience, or interoperability of Web3 Social.

There is still much work needed to bring Web3 Social to the masses; the technology and adoption is growing, but still in its infancy. We expect more iterations before true product-market-fit is achieved and will share more updates soon.

## Tiers and traits

## How to Add Continuum's Certificates to Your LinkedIn Profile

Step 1: Add Your Wallet to MetaMask

Before you can showcase your Continuum certificates on LinkedIn, you need to add your wallet to MetaMask. We generate wallets for every new user who registers for an account on our app using traditional methods. 

To access your account's private keys, reach out to our[ friendly team](https://discord.com/invite/continuum).

**Once you have your wallet's private keys, follow these steps to add your wallet to MetaMask:**

1. Install the MetaMask browser extension.
2. Click on the MetaMask icon in your browser's toolbar.
3. Click on "Import Wallet" and enter your wallet's private key.

Step 2: Connect Your Wallet to OpenSea

Next, connect your wallet to [OpenSea](https://opensea.io/collection/continuumcoursebadge), a digital marketplace for non-fungible tokens (NFTs), including our Continuum certificates.

**To connect your wallet to OpenSea:**

1. Go to the OpenSea website and click on "My Account."
2. Click on "Wallet" and then click on "Connect a Wallet."
3. Select MetaMask from the list of wallet options and click on "Connect."

Step 3: View Your Continuum Certificates

After you have connected your wallet to OpenSea, click on "More" and navigate to "Hidden" to view your Continuum certificates. Each Continuum certificate has a unique token ID.

Step 4: Copy the Certificate URL

Click on any one of your Continuum certificates and copy the URL. You will need this URL to add your certificate to your LinkedIn profile.

Step 5: Add Your Continuum Certificate to Your LinkedIn Profile

**To add your Continuum certificate to your LinkedIn profile**:

1. Log in to your LinkedIn account and navigate to "Licenses & Certifications."
2. Click on the "+" icon to add a new certification.
3. Fill in the required details, including the name of the course (in the "Name" section), "Continuum" as the issuing organization, the token ID (found on OpenSea) in the "Credential ID" section, and the OpenSea URL that you copied in step 4 in the "Credential URL" section.
4. Add the appropriate skills to the "Skills" section.
